The Kerala Electrical Inspectorate provides a pathway for qualified electrical engineers and diploma holders to apply for the Supervisor Grade B Exemption Category. This blog guides you through the eligibility, required documents, image specifications, and permit conditions.

๐Ÿงพ Minimum Qualification

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical and Electronics Engineering
  • Or Diploma in Electrical/Electrical and Electronics Engineering with 1 year of experience

  1. Recent Passport Size Photo
  2. Signature
  3. Certificate to prove Date of Birth
  4. Qualification Certificate
  5. Experience Certificate

๐Ÿ› ️ Scope of Work with Supervisor Grade B Permit

  • (a) Installations up to 25kW and Generator up to 25kVA
  • (b) Installations up to 50kW and Generator up to 50kVA
  • (c) Installations up to 150kW and Generator up to 150kVA
  • (d) Installations up to 250kW and Generator up to 250kVA
  • (e) X-ray, Neon sign, Lift, and Cinema installations (with (c) and (d))

๐Ÿ“… Validity and Renewal

  • The permit can be renewed once in ten years
  • Revalidation after 5 years is not allowed separately
  • Scope of work can be revised only after one year (or 3 years if under exam category)

⚠️ Important Rules & Conditions

  • Holder should not sign reports for works not supervised by them
  • Permit can be suspended for malpractice or violations
  • Any job change must be reported to the Board
  • No corrections in permit except by the Board; external changes lead to cancellation
